Write the names of different types of flow

Write the names of different types of flow and explain them.

The fluid flow is classified as:-

1.       Steady and unsteady flow

2.       Uniform and non-uniform flow

3.       Laminar and turbulent flow

4.       Compressible and incompressible flow

5.       Rotational and irrotational flow

6.       One,two and three dimensional flow

(1). Steady flow:-Study flow is defined as flow types in which fluid characteristics like velocity, pressure, density, etc. at a point do not change over time.

Unsteady flow:- Unsteady flow is the type of flow in which the speed, pressure or density at a point changes over time.

(2). Uniform flow:- Uniform flow is defined as the type of flow in which the velocity does not change in space at any point.

Non-uniform flow:-It is the flow kinds in which the velocity changes with regard to space at any stage.

(3). Laminar flow:- The laminar flow is described as the flow kinds in which the fluid particles travel along the flow line and all the flow lines are straight and parallel. The flow is called laminar if the amount of reynolds is less than 2000.

Turbulent flow:- Turbulent flow is the type of flow in which the particles of the fluid move zig-zag. If the amount of reynolds exceeds 4000, it is called dynamic flow.

(4). Compressible flow:- Compressible flow is the type of flow in which the fluid density varies from point to point.

The density () is not constant for the fluid.

Incompressible flow:- Incompressible flow is the type of flow where the fluid density is continuous. While gases are compressible, liquid is usually incompressible.

(5). Rotational flow:- Rotational flow is that flow kinds where fluid particles travel along stream lines rotate their own axis as well.
Irrotational flow:- Irrotational flow means that fluid particle kinds that travel along stream lines do not rotate their own axis. Then it is called irrotational flow that type of flow.

Equation of motion

Equation of motion A net force fx acting on a fluid element in the direction of x is equivalent to the mass (m) of the fluid element, according to the second low of movement of newton.                  Multiplied by the acceleration a x in the x-     direction. Thus mathematically,                              F x =m x a x   ---                     (1) In the fluid flow, the fllowing forces are present : (1)          F g . gravity force. (2)          F p . the pressure force. (3)          F v . the force due to viscosity (4)          F t . force due to turbulenes. (5)          F c . Force due to compressibility. Thus in equastion   (1).the net force.           F x = (f g ) x + (f p ) x +(f v ) x + (f t ) x +(f c ) x . (1)if the force due to compressibility, f c is negligible the resulting net force.                 F x = (f g ) x + (f p ) x +(f v ) x + (f t ) x and equation of motion are called reynold’s equation.
