state darcy law?


·  State Darcy law :-

The law of flow of water through soil was first studied by Darcy (1856), who demonstrated experimentally that for laminar flow condition in a saturated soil ,the discharge per unit time is proportional to the hydraulic gradient .

Or, v = q/a = ki

Where,

Q = discharge per unit time

A = total cross sectional area of soil mass

I = hydraulic gradient

K = Darcy’s coefficient of permeability

V = velocity of flow

It is used in very high flow rates flow measurements, generally provided in millions of cubic units.
